This Privacy Policy explains how API Factory ("API Factory", "we", "us" or "our") handles information when you use the WA Number Checker & Profile Android application (the "App").

1. What the App does

The App allows users to enter telephone numbers to check whether those numbers appear to be registered on WhatsApp and, where available, retrieve profile-related information associated with those numbers.

The App may also allow users to open a conversation with a telephone number using WhatsApp when WhatsApp is installed on the user's device.

2. Information you provide

When you use the App, you may provide telephone numbers that you wish to check. These telephone numbers are transmitted to API Factory's servers so that the requested validation or profile lookup can be performed.

You should only submit telephone numbers that you are legally permitted to process and use.

3. Information returned by the service

Depending on the requested feature and the information available, the service may return:

• whether a telephone number appears to be registered on WhatsApp;
• profile name or business name;
• profile image;
• profile description or "About" information;
• business information, such as a business description or address, where available.

The availability and accuracy of profile information may vary and is not guaranteed.

4. Information collected automatically

When the App communicates with our servers, we may automatically receive limited technical information necessary to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service, including:

• IP address;
• request date and time;
• requested API endpoint;
• HTTP status and diagnostic information;
• basic technical information associated with the request.

This information may be recorded in server or infrastructure logs for security, reliability, abuse prevention and troubleshooting purposes.

5. App permissions

The initial version of the App does not require access to your contacts, SMS messages, call history, location, microphone or camera in order to validate a telephone number.

The App requires internet access in order to communicate with API Factory's servers. Where the App offers an option to open a conversation in WhatsApp, this is performed using Android's normal application-linking mechanisms.

6. Search history

The App may store a history of recently checked telephone numbers locally on your device to make it easier to access previous searches.

Where this feature is enabled, local search history is not intended to be synchronised with an API Factory account or other devices.

7. How we use information

Information processed through the App may be used to:

• provide telephone-number validation and profile-lookup services;
• respond to requests from the App;
• maintain the security and reliability of the service;
• detect misuse, abuse or excessive automated requests;
• diagnose technical problems;
• improve the performance of the App and service.

8. Sharing of information

We do not sell personal information submitted through the App.

Information may be processed by infrastructure and service providers where necessary to operate the App, API services, hosting, networking, security and related technical services.

We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation or legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, users or services.

9. Data retention

Telephone numbers submitted for validation or profile lookup are processed in order to provide the requested service.

Technical server logs may be retained for a limited period where necessary for security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention and service reliability.

Local search history remains on the user's device until deleted by the user, cleared through the App, or removed when the App's storage is cleared or the App is uninstalled.

10. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information processed through the service.

Communications between the App and API Factory services are transmitted using HTTPS.

No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Children's privacy

The App is not designed for or specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.

12. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the App and any telephone numbers or profile information processed through it complies with applicable laws and regulations.

The App must not be used for unlawful surveillance, harassment, spam, unsolicited marketing or other abusive activity.

13. Third-party services

The App may interact with third-party applications or services, including WhatsApp, where the user chooses to open a telephone number or conversation using such services.

Your use of third-party applications and services is governed by the privacy policies and terms of those third parties.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our services, applicable law or our data practices. Any revised version will be published on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
